Animal lovers will be pleased to hear that Monty the Camel is recuperating at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park after he was released from his life in a travelling circus.
Monty follows in the footsteps of his old friend Anne the elephant, released and rehomed last month at Longleat Safari Park after public outcry over her treatment as part of a travelling circus.
The seven year old camel is said to be in a good condition, feeding well and loving his new found freedom in the acres of land at the Wildlife Park. He is even making friends with the other camels that are at the park.
You can visit Monty at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park, which is one of the many great York Attractions you open to holders of a Yorkshire Pass.
