The Shibden Mill at Halifax has been named the winner of Yorkshire’s favourite pub.

The competition run by Welcome to Yorkshire and the Yorkshire Post asked the public to nominate the region’s top publican house and they were overwhelmed with the response.

Over 200 pubs were nominated, which were whittled down to 12 of Yorkshire’s best who were then put up for another round of public voting.

Out of all the diverse pubs on the list, it was the Shibden Mill in Halifax that were the eventual victors, making the management team of Simon Heaton and Glen Pearson extremely pleased and proud.

Visitors to Yorkshire can visit the top pubs in the region by following the recently launched ‘Ale Trail guide’ which showcases a range 30 pubs, breweries and festivals in the region.

This is great news for those heading to the region with their Yorkshire Passes exploring the top Yorkshire attractions as they can taste some of the region’s finest ale in Yorkshire’s favourite pub.
