Yorkshire Wildlife Park gets new female tiger

Yorkshire Wildlife ParkTop Yorkshire attraction Yorkshire Wildlife Park has recently welcomed a new female tiger into the park as part of their breeding programme.

Three-year-old Sayan was taken on a six hour journey from her old home in Kent at the Howletts Wild Animal Park.

She will be paired with Vladimir who came to the park 3 months ago in an effort to help boost the numbers of this endangered breed. It has been estimated that there are less than 450 Amur Siberian tigers left on the planet.

Both tigers will eventually be on display together in the ‘Land of the Tigers’ enclosure, but this won’t be until they are fully introduced. There is a worry that if the process happens too quickly, the tigers could fight with each other.

You can currently see both tigers individually at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park, one of the many top Yorkshire attractions available for free entry with a Yorkshire Pass.
