Yorkshire Pub batters the world to win fish and chip record

     record breaking fish and chips

A pub in Yorkshire has helped Britain batter the rest of the world by reclaiming the world record for serving the largest portion of fish and chips.

The Wensleydale Heifer in West Witton created a monster serving of fish and chips that weighed slightly over 100lbs beating the previous 78 lbs record set by the Black Rose restaurant in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

The Yorkshire Dales pub used over four gallons of batter to cook the fish and be entered in the Guinness Book of Records.

A crowd of over 200 people turned up to witness the record attempt and to tuck into the food. All donations taken at the event went to the Help the Heroes charity.

If you are heading to Yorkshire with your Yorkshire Pass and want to eat at this award winning and record breaking restaurant then why not tie it in to a trip to the nearby Middleham castle, one of the many top Yorkshire attractions the region boasts.
