
If you are heading to York in July with your Yorkshire Pass, you might be interested to know that the 6th Annual Festival of Rivers is being held in the city.
The event runs from Saturday 9th through to Sunday 24th of July and includes a wide variety of family friendly events along the banks of the Ouse and Foss, York’s famous rivers.
The rivers of York play a very important role in the city throughout history and still draw visitors time and time again. This festival looks to celebrate the rich history of the area and how the rivers were used by the Vikings and Romans and how they are still important to York today.
The festival boasts a huge number of events over July including races on the river, fishing competitions, quizzes, plays and poetry.
