Did you know what the city of York has its own edition of Monopoly? Instead of the famous streets of London we are used to, the board now features sites and attractions in York.
This York Edition of the game is made by game manufacturers Winning Moves UK and public voting was used to help decide which landmarks, attractions, businesses and locations should be included in the game.
Replacing Mayfair as the most expensive spot on the board is York Minster, and replacing the least expensive spot, Old Kent Road, is York Attraction Treasurer’s House.
Other York Attractions that feature in the game include the JORVIK Viking Centre and the York Dungeon. The Dungeons not only feature as a place on the board but also provide themed Dungeon Community Chest cards that are said to be much worse than even a ‘Do Not Pass Go’ card!
