A new tropical touchpool has opened at the top Yorkshire Attraction the Scarborough Sealife and Marine Sanctuary, and the resident shrimps have a unique talent.
Apparently these tropical cleaner shrimps love to give humans a pedicure by nibbling off any dead or flaky skin on any fingers that are placed in the water. In the wild the shrimps perform the same function but by giving various fish a treatment by eating dead scales and removing parasites.
To mark the opening, the attraction allowed the first 10 visitors to the touchpool to get a cleaner shrimp manicure which was then followed up by a complete manicure by nail technicians.
