Royal Events in York

    Mansion HouseThere are plenty of things going on in York and Yorkshire to celebrate the Royal Wedding. If you are in the area using your Yorkshire Pass to visit some of the top York Attractions, then you might be interested in some of the following events.

    At the Mansion House, you can have a unique experience of watching the wedding at the official residence of the Lord Mayor of York. Guests will enjoy a Champagne reception and refreshments as the couple wed. The event starts at 10am, guests are asked to dress for the occasion and tickets are limited and on sale at the Guildhall reception for £20 each.

    If you would like to celebrate the Royal Wedding and stretch your legs at the same time, then the YorkWalk – Royal Wedding walk is for you. Departing from the York Museum Gardens on Sunday the 1st of May at 10.30am this entertaining and informative walk will teach you about York’s rich royal history.

    If you are visiting the area with children then the special event being held at Clifford’s Tower will be perfect. The Knight’s Family Fun Trail will allow children to win prizes by searching for miniature English Heritage Knights and Squires and inviting them to a banquet.

    As well as special events, many of the top York Attractions will have special Royal exhibitions and displays to mark the occasion including the York Castle Museum, JORVIK Viking Centre and the Yorkshire Air Museum.
