Rock & Rail 2011 at the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway

    Rock and rail festival

Who said trains and railways were boring? The Rock & Rail 2011 event brought a 3 day festival to the world of railways as it took place on and around the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway earlier this month.

The festival took place on June 10th, 11th and 12th and featured 40 bands. Ocean Colour Scene and Paul Weller’s guitarist Steve Cradock headlined the event on the Saturday night.

The various artists playing the event covered a wide range of musical styles as they played at the Keighly and Oxenhope stations and some even played aboard the train in the Jubilee Bar. Acts that performed include Talking to Strangers, Sharp Darts, You Had Me at Hello, Operator Six and Anne Marie.

Sadly, this year’s event is over, but you can keep your eyes out for next year’s event. You can however visit the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway any time for free with your Yorkshire Pass.
