Those wishing to visit Yorkshire from London now have it even easier thanks to a new train route from London to Harrogate reopening after 20 years.
The grand reopening happened in May and the first direct train was welcomed with a brass band and a champagne reception.
The route was reopened by East Coast Trains thanks to feedback from customers and a campaign from the local Chamber of Commerce highlighting the boost it will provideto the area’s business and economy. It will also be much more useful than the existing morning service that doesn’t offer a return journey.
It is especially good news for those who wish to visit the top Yorkshire attractions that are in Harrogate like RHS Garden Harlow Carr and the Royal Pump Room Museum, as well as nearby attractions like Knaresborough Castle and Ripley Castle with their Yorkshire Passes.
