Half-term Holiday Tales

    Visit the Military Gallery and hear how Gulliver survived on the mysterious island of Lilliput, or hear about Robinson Crusoe, one of the older books in the collection, told in an old rhyming form.

With tales from Victorian children's books, including the ‘Struwwelpeter’ books, focusing on the popular topic Victorian school life. These tales vary from humorous poems to serious tales, with lessons to be learned from all of them!

    Finally there’s the option to hear tales from the Castle prison, hear about how Will toad managed to escape from his cell in ‘The Wind in the Willows’, or how Oliver survived the evil grasp of Fagin in ‘Oliver Twist’.
