Great Yorkshire Show to receive Royal Visit

     Great Yorkshire Show 2011

The 2011 Great Yorkshire Show will be extra special as it will receive a royal visit from the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall.

One of the biggest and most important shows on the agricultural calendar, the Great Yorkshire show takes place over three days from the 12th to the 14th of July and is expected to draw over 100,000 visitors.

The visit from Prince Charles is significant as he is a patron of the organising body, the Yorkshire Agricultural Society.

The event often draws royal visitors with the Princess Royal attending last year, the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh visiting in 2008 and Charles and Camilla last attended it back in 2006.

The show is held in Harrogate, which is home to Yorkshire attractions like the Royal Pump Room museum and RHS garden Harlow Carr, which means if you are visiting the region with your Yorkshire Pass, a day at the show is ideal.
