There is now the first opportunity in over 50 years to get up close to York Minster's Great East Window. You will see real conservation in action and meet the experts entrusted with the ambitious restoration of this magnificent window, the masterpiece of master Glazier John Thornton created between 1405 and 1408. With the help of the Heritage Lottery Fund, the York Glaziers Trust has converted a medieval chapel into an accessible showcase for modern stained glass conservation which combines 21st-century scientific understanding with ancient craft skills.
